On July 19th -27th American mission team from Kings Baptist Church in Mount Washington, Kentucky sponsored Vacation Bible School for children from several villages near Camp Finate. Coordination of participating children was headed up by local school Teacher Mariana Sovre. The children enjoyed Bible stories, learning Bible verses, crafts and games led by Kim Pulliam who was assisted by her daughter Alison, Beth Joseph, Chris Harbin, Karen Murray and Paula Alford. Songs and games were led by Johnny Pulliam, Alison Pulliam, Kyle Harbin, Isaiah Barnett and Mark Hale. Mark Hale , a coach by profession held sports camps in the afternoons for the local kids. At the end of the Vacation Bible School the gospel was presented to the children by Pastor Keith Joseph. The group set aside a day to visit with the gypsy community of Trestia. Fellowship and games were enjoyed by the team and children at the home of Valer , a brother in Christ who lives there. While in the village Paula Alford , a nurse with the team treated some children for skin infections and tooth aches. Tooth brushes and toothpaste with instructions were given to the children and their parents. The team also did a two night vacation bible school at Holy Trinity in Baia Mare Other team members John Hedberg, James Risner and Jonathan Rideout presented a leadership conference at Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Baia Mare. The associate pastors were at churches most every night and Sunday while in Romania to preach and encourage the pastors as well as the brothers and sisters in Christ. We would like to thank the translators : Lidia Miculaucic, Mada Balanean, Andrea Varga and Alex Vultur for a wonderful job of translating for the American team and for helping their experience while here be more effective and enjoyable.
